My first ever halal food in NYC did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious, very accessible, and line to wait was not too long. This location was near a convenient corner where loads of people sat to eat - perfect for people watching and enjoying a drizzly day. If you're ever in Austin, TX, try a restaurant in central-north Austin called "Kismet" -- amazing halal food of the same caliber.

There's always have a long lines here. So meaning the food are good. The ambiance is a "Street" street food but is delicious. I ordered a combo platter ( beef/chicken) small good for 1 person not unless if you want more then get the large one. Don't forget the white sauce. And a little of hot sauce.

A must stop when in the city validated by the constant line of patient customers. Typical wait is less than ten minutes and worth the effort. Menu is basic and authentic, choose a platter or sandwich and protein: chicken, gyro, falafel or lamb. Sandwich is so stuffed hard to eat on the go. All in $10 including a soda.

Date: Monday, May 6th, 2024 Time: around 9:45pm Party of: 5 What: Dinner or After Drinks Food? Note: Review #10,339 Combo Platter Served with a pairing of (beef gyro, chicken) as well as rice, lettuce, and tomatoes along with your choice of toppings and our famous white and hot sauce. What else can I say about Halal Guys that has not been said?! Deliciously filling cheap eats. The hubby and I shared a platter after a day of drinking and we were good. I can't remember how much it was, but I think it was like $13 or less for a plate of food. And I like how I can add as much white or hot sauce as I want. I do love my food spicy. Combo for me is the way to go since I can have both chicken and beef. I'm not much of a rice person and the hubs is not much of a lettuce person, so it was divide and conquer. We killed that platter. Tasty, affordable, and just yum!

Stop by for a quick lunch on a weekday. And the line was not that long. The employee was very nice. However, I asked for very little sauce, but he put the same amount as my friend who asked for regular amount of sauce. Next time, I will just not order on top of the Gyro. Nevertheless, the meat was very tasty, and there were lots of bell peppers and veggies. It was very filling over all, and it was wrapped tightly in aluminum foil and put into a plastic bag easily used to transport. The price was also very manageable for NYC. The food truck was clean to.

Wait for about 30 minutes on a Wednesday during lunch time (got in line around 12:35 PM and had my food in hand by just after 1:05 PM). While waited in line, seems a lot of food delivery folks from Whizz service came by to pick up delivery orders. The food was good, tasty, reasonable affordable (at least less expensive than in California). However, I'm not sure I'd wait in a line to try this OG cart again. Literally tastes the same as physical store fronts, so the only difference is the experience waiting in line. Very cool first time trying it though!

At 10,300+ reviews, Halal Guys is one of the top most reviewed places in the world! I remember first hearing about Halal Guys back in 2016, my friends who are also yelpers brought me to the Halal Guys location in Costa Mesa, CA which had just opened that year. I had never had gyros before, but after trying it that night I've been hooked ever since! For 8 years now I've been dying to visit the original Halal Guys food cart in New York and I finally got the chance a couple of months ago! Beware! There's a copycat Halal Guys on the opposite side of the block. I was shocked at first that the line wasn't that long, and when I looked over, I saw another Halal stand, it turns out we were standing in the incorrect line. The authentic Halal Guys has a super long wait. I've noticed people on Yelp posting the wrong Halal Guys photos to this page. It sucks that there's a copycat business right next to them to confuse customers. I verified with the guys working the food stand, that they have no relation or connection to the other fake Halal Guys cart a few feet away. So don't make that mistake of going to the wrong food cart. If the line seems too short, you're probably at the wrong cart. We stood outside for about 45 minutes, but to me it's worth it since I had been waiting years to visit. I ordered a small beef gyro plate $9 with extra white sauce. Oh my gosh, it's soooo delicious! If you've never had Halal Guys before, you'll be addicted! I'm warning you!

WORTH THE WAIT!!! Them guys cooking. The food was lick the fork good. Rice tender. Perfect balance of meat n rice. white sauce good. Hotsauce a bit spicy but good spice notes. I almost wanted to grab a platter to bring home on plane. You gotta give it a try.
